Hiring platform Indeed has revamped its user profile page, introducing AI-powered tools for crafting work experience descriptions and incorporating support for multiple resumes. Additionally, it has launched smart sourcing suites for recruiters, featuring AI-generated candidate summaries and personalized messages.

Owned by Recruiter Holdings, Indeed is enhancing its profile page and integrating AI features to enhance competitiveness against platforms like LinkedIn, Talent.com, and ZipRecruiter. The new AI-driven work experience writer assists users in creating more detailed project descriptions.

Furthermore, Indeed now allows users to save up to five resumes, facilitating easy selection of the most relevant version when applying for various positions. These features will be rolled out soon, according to Indeed.

Previously, Indeed offered a toggle to make user profiles visible to recruiters, but now it will be enabled by default and readily accessible on the settings page.

Conversely, for recruiters, Indeed is introducing a smart sourcing suite to minimize what it terms “irrelevant outreach,” where employers contact candidates who do not match the job requirements. This suite includes advanced search filters and access to AI-generated candidate summaries.

Indeed is also implementing AI-powered smart messaging and automated interview scheduling. The AI-assisted messaging tool enables hiring managers to craft or adjust communications with job seekers. During testing, recruiters utilizing the smart sourcing feature saved up to six hours per week, Indeed claims.

In response to inquiries about bias mitigation and ensuring comprehensive AI-powered summaries, Indeed stated that it employs a responsible AI team to mitigate potential harm.

LinkedIn, Indeed’s competitor, has also integrated AI across various aspects, including learning, recruitment, marketing, sales, messaging, and profile enhancement.

Deepti Patibandla, Senior Director of Product at Indeed, emphasized the company’s focus on facilitating job placements. She highlighted the differentiation from LinkedIn, stating that Indeed aims to streamline the hiring process and ensure individuals find suitable positions without being overwhelmed by irrelevant job listings.

Last year, Indeed underwent significant layoffs, reducing its staff by 15%, with CEO Chris Hyams citing the need to align the organization’s size with future prospects.
